Lloyd "Wayne" Peters

Lloyd “Wayne” Peters (Papa Wayne), age 82 of Rocky Mount passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2023. He was born February 3, 1940 to the late Leonard and Mary Elizabeth (May) Peters. He was also preceded in death by two children, Joyce and Danny; two brothers, Shirley and Aubrey Peters; two sisters, Elizabeth Wade and Geraldine Dillon. Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Brenda Peters; two children, Timmy (Greg) Peters and Steven (Jamie) Peters; three grandchildren, Brittany (Tyler) Craghead, Logan (Emma) and Ashton Peters; one sister, Linda Blankenship; numerous nieces and nephews. He retired from Bassett Superior Lines after 44 years of service. Following retirement, he enjoyed helping his wife at her curtain shop and hanging out at his son’s garage or napping at home with his beloved dogs. Funeral services will be conducted at Flora Funeral Chapel 11 a.m. Friday, January 20, 2023 with Rev. Tom Siddle officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. His family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
