Lois Parcell Farrish, 85, of Scottsville, died Thursday, November 14, 2013 at the University of Virginia Medical Center.
She was born on August 9, 1928 in Franklin County, Virginia, a daughter of the late Charles and Della (Turner) Parcell.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Farrish; daughter, Joan Farrish; step-mother, Odelle W. Parcell.
Mrs. Farrish retired as an Eligibility Worker for the City of Charlottesville Department of Social Services. She was a faithful and devoted member of Sharon Baptist Church in Scottsville. She was a founding member of the Buckingham Rescue Squad and was a Lifetime 4-H All-star.
Survivors include two sons, Mike Farrish and wife, Brenda and Gary Farrish, all of Scottsville; a daughter, Ellen Smith and husband, Ed of South Hill, Virginia; a brother, C. Noell Parcell and wife, Peggy of Rocky Mount, Virginia; five grandchildren, Martin and Emily Smith, Amanda Farrish Savage, and Cody and Casey Farrish; a great-granddaughter, Emma Grace Farrish; and a number of extended family members and friends who affectionately called her "Momma Farrish."
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Sunday, November 17, 2013 at Sharon Baptist Church by the Reverend Perry Clore. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 8:00 PM, Saturday evening, November 16, 2013 at Thacker Brothers Scottsville Funeral Home.
