Lois Peters Scott

Lois Peters Scott, age 87 of Bassett passed away Wednesday, November 11, 2025. She was born February 27, 1938 a daughter of the late Howard and Clara Peters. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Wilson Peters. Surviving are her four children, Paula June Elliott (Marty), Donna Gail Anderson, Gerry Lester Massey and Terry Lee Massey (Sally); grandchildren, Mark Taylor, Jennifer Morris, Jamie Morris, Jeremy Massey, Heather Boardwine, Matthew King and Whitney Chaffin; 12 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Donna Peters. Lois was a member of Fort Trial Baptist Church. She retired from DuPont with many years of service and was also a beautician. She enjoyed knitting and crafts. Funeral services will be held at Flora Funeral Chapel 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 17, 2025 with Pastor Eddie Hawks officiating. Interment will be private in Roselawn Burial Park on Tuesday. Her family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Sunday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
