Lois Gay Welch

Lois Iddings Welch, age 81 of Rocky Mount died Friday, October 23, 2015. She was born April 9, 1934 in Summers County, West Virginia and had been a resident of Rocky Mount, Virginia for 54 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie and Zula Iddings; and sister, Bonnie Iddings. Surviving are her husband of 58 years Milford Duane Welch; her children: son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Chrissy Welch; daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Richard Doucette; son and friend, Randy Welch and Jennifer Fahey; grandchildren, Oak Welch, Brooke Welch, and Emma Doucette. Lois helped form and retired from Member One Federal Credit Union. She was also a devoted member of Franklin Heights Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday at Franklin Heights Baptist Church with Dr. Stan Parris and Rev. Mark Griffith officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain View Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Her family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Franklin Heights Baptist Church.
