Lonnie Dale Eggleston

Lonnie Dale Eggleston, age 74 of Glade Hill gained his heavenly wings on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital of Pancreatic Cancer. He was preceded in death by his father, Charlie Eggleston and his mother, Mary Carter Eggleston; sister, Scarlett Coffey and his wife, Nora R. Eggleston; best friend, Lin Flowers. Lonnie was the owner of New Line Furniture for 23 years; he loved his Lord and Savior by reading scripture every day and witnessing to people about Jesus. He is survived by his partner and soulmate of 12 years, Jewel Dudley; his tomcat; special friends, Gene and Barbara Parker, Cova Hunt along with numerous friends and his church family at Peters Creek Church of the Brethren, in Roanoke; his best friend’s daughters, Jessi Flowers Sweeney and Diana Flowers Swain. He enjoyed teaching Sunday school, restoring antique cars, talking with the guys at car shows and the Pizza King guys. A memorial service will be held per Lonnie’s request at Flora Funeral Chapel 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 23, 2023 with Pastor Johnny Thompson officiating.
