Loretta Adkins Sloan

Loretta Adkins Sloan, age 76 of Ferrum passed away Saturday, June 14, 2025 surrounded by her family. Loretta was preceded in death by her mother, Louise Whorley; father, Clarence Adkins; sisters, Wanda Brown and Margie Lee Whorley; grandparents, John and Martha Richards and Robert and Myrtha Adkins. She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Sloan; son, Mike Ferguson (Brenda); step-son, Lonnie Sloan (Shelly); sister, Freda Mullins (Bill); brother, Timmy George (Barbara); grandson, Andrew Sloan; granddaughter, Amber; step-great-great grandchildren, Mya, Marley and MahKaya. She loved her Twin Oaks Church family and all of her many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Retta was a gentle soul who was loved by all who knew her. She will be missed. Funeral services will be held at Flora Funeral Chapel 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2025 with Pastor Terry Covey officiating. Interment will follow in the Cooper Family Cemetery. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
