Louella Young Franklin, age 91 of Rocky Mount passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2007.
She was born February 26, 1916 to the late Johnny and Ludie Young. She was also preceded in death by her husband Jessie Marshall Franklin; two sons Jessie Glenwood Franklin and Earnest Edward Franklin; one brother Frank Young; and two sisters Elsie Franklin and Corene Marshall.
She retired from Cox’s Department Store.
She is survived by two sisters Lena Anderson and Fannie Harrison; brother and sister-in-law Jack and Dorothy Young; a very special friend Lorene Franklin; three daughters-in-law Gearldine Frith, Shirley Franklin and Mary Amos; three grandchildren Roger Franklin, Patricia Nunley and Mary Alice Green; two great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2 p.m. Saturday with Rev. Eddie Peters officiating. Interment will follow in the Franklin Family Cemetery.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. Friday with her family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Flora Funeral Service, 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount and other times at the home of Gearldine Frith, Vantage Road in Franklin Heights.
