Louise Mattox Pagans passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Monday, November 27, 2017. Louise was born on April 15, 1926 in Jack's Mountain in Glade Hill, Virginia to the late Thomas S. and Kate Mattox. She was also predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Davis W. Pagans. Louise was a member of Glade Hill Baptist Church and attended regularly, always looking forward to every Sunday morning. Louise is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Lynn Pagans; and her very special granddaughter, Amelia Pagans of Glade Hill. She is also survived by one sister, Mildred Mattox; and nieces, Margaret Taylor also of Glade Hill and Kathy Rakes of Wirtz, Va. Louise resided the last 4 1/2 years at the home of her caregivers, Beverly and Joe Rutter where she received much loving care from Beverly, Joe, and Barbara. Louise received great pleasure from her Thursday morning Bingo group and she was especially happy when she won the most games of the day. Louise was a very strong woman who overcame many physical obstacles in her later years. Flowers will be accepted or memorial donations can be made to the Handbell Ministry at Glade Hill Baptist Church, 6627 Colonial Turnpike, Glade Hill, Virginia 24092. Her family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 28 from 5-8 p.m. at Glade Hill Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at 11 a.m. also at Glade Hill Baptist Church with Rev. David Long and Rev. Jon Spencer officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
