Loulie Carbine Hutto, a caring and beautiful spirit, passed away on August 1, 2018 at her home in Moneta, Virginia.

Born June 16, 1923 in Marion, SC, she worked as a secretary for the Army until 1979 before retiring to Smith Mountain Lake.  She was active in the bridge league in Moneta from her retirement until her passing.

She was a loving and devoted spouse to her husband, Col. Charles Lee Hutto (deceased).  She is survived by her siblings Mary Carbine Brooks, Lillian Carbine Owens, Marguerite Sanders (deceased) and Edward Cox (deceased); three sister-in-laws Billye Mann, Bobby Price (deceased), and Angie Hurst (deceased); three children, Charlotte (Brigham) Shuler, Terry Hutto (Frank) Gaffney, Chuck (Sylvia) Hutto; five grandchildren Mark (deceased) Shuler, Beth (Bruce) Smith, Greg (Lori) Phillips, Lindsay (Kevin) Hurt, Benjamin (Cameron) Hutto; six great-grandchildren Loulie Smith, Brigham Shuler, Chalis & Chanlin Phillips, and Nora & Lillian Hurt; and numerous close friends.  A celebration of life will be held at 11am on August 4, 2018 at Richardson Funeral Home, 1936 Senator Gasque Road, Marion, SC 29571.

A burial service will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion, SC.  Donations can be sent to Centra Hospice of Bedford.  Flower arrangements can be sent to Richardson Funeral Home.  Special thanks to her devoted caregiver Barb Ries and Hospice workers Stephanie, Amanda, Allie and Sissy - and special friends Elaine Overstreet and Betty Wray.
