Lovella Belle Kinsey

Lovella Belle Burgess Kinsey, began her very full and eventful life June 17, 1923 and departed this life April 2, 2012 to begin her heavenly reward. Her life on this earth was shared and spent caring for family, friends and all creatures great and small.” Vella” possessed many talents and hobbies such as cooking, sewing, ceramics, gardening and just enjoying the “good life on the farm”. She was an active member of Boones Mill Christian Church. Her love of the church family gave her great joy. Lovella was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Ray Arthur Kinsey, Sr.; parents, Lester and Lilly B. Showalter Burgess; sister, Lelia Loraine Burgess; brother, Darrell Burgess; granddaughter, Cathy Lynn Walters; daughter-in-law, Barbara Webb Kinsey. Surviving are her seven children, Jerry Wayne Kinsey, Ray Arthur Kinsey Jr., Gregory Lynn Kinsey, Joyce Kinsey Walters (Lonnie), Donna Kinsey Lewis (George), Karen Sue Kinsey, Sherry Kinsey Naff (Paul); 13 grandchildren;16 great-grandchildren; brothers, Grover Burgess (Janie) and Jimmy Burgess (Liz); a number of neices and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at Boones Mill Christian Church 11:00 a.m. Wednesday with Pastor Paul Stutzman and Rev. Jim Compton officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park. The family suggest memorials be made to Boones Mill Christian Church, 7950 Grassy Hill Road, Boones Mill, Va. 24065. Her family will be receiving friends 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center South Main Street, Rocky Mount, Va. and other times at the home of Jerry Kinsey.
