Lowell Wincel Jones

Lowell Wincel Jones, age 82 of 296 Red Valley Road, Boones Mill, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 26, 2017. He was born in Redwood on July 19, 1935 son of the late Lucian Herbert Jones and Ruth Perdue Jones. He retired from Lane Furniture after a career of more than 30 years. A member of Woodlawn Baptist Church and formerly was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. He married his beloved wife, Charlene Dillon Jones on June 28, 1987. He was preceded in death by brothers, Adrian and Eugene. Surviving in addition to his wife are his older brother, L.H. and wife Hazel; sister, Dalphine Swanson; daughters, Kay Jones and Veronica (Danny) Ziegler; son, Brian; step-sons, Steve (Nan) McGuire, Jeff (David) McGuire, Mike (Denise) McGuire; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved pet dogs, Max and Sonny. The family conveys special gratitude to Carilion Hospice for their support and care. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2 p.m. Monday with Rev. Eddie Hawks and Pastor Joe Dillon officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park.
