Lula Mary Durham Jennings age 88 of Boones Mill went to be with the Lord Saturday, July 30, 2005.
She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-one years, Omer Jennings; her parents, Riley and Naomi Durham; and four brothers, Jack, Henry, Fred, and Johnny Durham.
She is survived by her children, Lewis and Mary Jo Jennings, Glade Hill, Patricia and Curtis Bailey, Rocky Mount, and Monica Austin, of the home; four grandchildren, Randy and Nancy Jennings, Wirtz, Kay Jennings, Boones Mill, Darin Bailey, Rocky Mount, Jeff Bailey and his fiancé Jennifer Gibson, Rocky Mount; eight great-grandchildren, Tiffany and Lindsey Thurman, Jessica and Alexys Bailey, Justin and Mercedes Bailey, Shane Moore and D’Anna Gibson; one sister, Carrie Hall, Boones Mill.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to Gloria Green for all her help and care giving; to Medi Home Hospice for all of their support; and to a special friend, Tee Brookes.
Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2:00 p.m. Tuesday with Chaplain Joe Grooten officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park.
The family will be receiving friends from 6-9 p.m. Monday at Flora Funeral Service, 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount.
