Lura Richards Webb

Lura Richards Webb, age 95 of Callaway died Wednesday, January 18, 2012. She was born February 26, 1916, a daughter of the late Robert and Viney Sowder Richards and was the last of eight siblings. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ralph (Nick) Webb; son, Donnie Webb; and son-in-law, Karl Flora. Mrs. Webb was a lifetime member of St. Peters Episcopal Church and also supported Phoebe Needles Center where the Webb Lodge was named in honor of her and her husband. Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Deborah Webb; daughter, Patricia Flora; daughter-in-law, Dorothy Webb; grandchildren, Donna Webb, Nichole (Jon) Davis, Kyle (Meghan) Flora, Kevin (Jennifer) Flora; five great-grandchildren, Natalie, Ainsley, Eli, Brooke and Steven. Funeral services will be conducted from St. Peters Episcopal Church 11 a.m. Saturday with Rev. John Heck officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Phoebe Needles Center, 730 Turners Creek Rd., Callaway, VA 24067. Her family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
