M. Duane Willie

M. Duane Willie age 49, of Rocky Mount, passed away peacefully at UVA Medical Center in Charlottesville. He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Raymond A. Willie and Alice D. Miller Willie maternal grandfather, Everett (Eb) Young. Surviving are his two children, Adam and Emily Willie, his loving parents Gerald R. and Janet Y. Willie, one brother Darryl R. Willie, grandmother, Edith Young, uncles and aunts, Allen Willie (Linda), Judy Slaughter, Brenda Jones (Danny), Linda Phillips, Jerald Young (Phyllis), Richard Young (Fredericka), special niece Ashley Willie and loving cousin Sandy Young, many other cousins , ex-wife Lisa Bernard Willie; brother-in-law, Jeff Bernard (Danene), nephew and niece, Josh Bernard (Erin) and Deanna Bernard. He had a lifelong love of the outdoors and photography. Duane had a kind loving spirit and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Sunday May 5, 2013 at Flora Funeral Chapel with Chaplain Rick Poland and Mr. Dwight Hayes officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. His family will receive friends from 1:30 til 3:00 p.m. Sunday. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
