Mabel Hutcherson

Mabel Inease Rakes Moran Hutcherson, 79, of Glade Hill, passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her father, Samuel Rakes; mother, Clemmie Booth Rakes; brothers, Frank Rakes and Samuel Rakes (SM); and granddaughter, Amy Weaver Camp. She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Ophus Aron Hutcherson JR; her children, Tina Markham (Terry), Rita Smith, and Ophus Hutcherson III (Marci); step-sons, Keith Hutcherson and Steve Hutcherson (Molly); her grandchildren, Chris Weaver (Rose), Zach Markham (Amber), Blaine Smith (Jennifer), Vanessa Carnett, Dr. Brett Hutcherson (Dr. Stephanie), Emily Hutcherson, Kayla Hutcherson, and Marindy Hutcherson; her great-grandchildren, Danielle Camp, Blake Smith, Grace Weaver, and Faith Weaver; special daughter-in-law, Kathy Hutcherson; sisters, Hazel Shively and Joy Hale; brother, Lewis Rakes; and many friends and loved ones. Funeral services will be conducted at Flora Funeral Chapel 2 p.m. Saturday with Pastor Danny Poff officiating. Interment will follow in the Rakes Family Cemetery. Her family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
