Macie Easter Hodges

Macie Easter Hodges, age 86 of Rocky Mount died Thursday, May 19, 2016. She was born in Franklin County on September 18, 1929 to the late Posie and Easter Hodges and was also preceded in death by her sister, Joyce Young; brothers, Nelson, Billy, Posie Jr. Hodges; and one niece, Christy Young. She graduated from Baptist Bible Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas and returned home to teach piano to many children in Franklin County. She also played the piano for several churches in the county during her younger years. Surviving are her one sister, Nadine Chitwood (Clifton); five brothers, Leslie Hodges (Virginia), Brady Hodges (Marie), Allen Hodges (Peggy), Daniel Hodges (Judy), and David Hodges (Betty); one brother-in-law, G.A. Young; one sister-in-law, Betty Jo Hodges; many nieces and nephews including special nephew, Ronald Young; and very special friend and cousin, Nancy Shively. Graveside services will be held 3 p.m. Sunday at the Hodges Family Cemetery (English Road) with Rev. Michael Stump officiating. Her family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. on Sunday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
