Madeline Jones Sink

Our Precious mother, Madeline Jones Sink, formerly of Roanoke and Moneta, peacefully passed into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, December 13, 2023. She was a daughter of the late Robert Lee and Addie Humphreys Jones. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Charlie Edward Sink; and her devoted son, Daniel W. Sink. Madeline was an accomplished seamstress for over 42 years always so proud of her work. Surviving are her loving daughters, Sally and husband Tom, Cathy, Brenda Charlene and husband Tim, Becky and husband Jay; son, Keith and wife Andrea; brother, Ralph David Jones; grandchildren, Brooke, Jesse III and wife Ashley, Lillian, Charlie, Micah; great-grandson, Jesse IV; and several nieces and nephews. Madeline grew up in Roanoke, VA, the youngest daughter of nine children, predeceased by brothers, Bob, Doc, Bert and Junior; and sisters, Margaret, Edith and Virginia. She lived her entire life devoted to her faith, her family and her church. She enjoyed being involved in numerous activities serving where she was needed, although her passion was working with the youth group at church and looked forward each year for annual church camp where she was the camp cook for many years making the best ever sausage biscuits and gravy. She loved her family and considered her greatest legacy was passing on to her children a strong Christian faith and loving each other unconditionally. The family would like to thank her favorite doctor for over thirty years, Dr. Steven Lewis of Moneta, Friendship Health and Rehab staff of 2nd and 4th floors where she has resided for the last five years, and dedicated Pastor and faithful friend for so many years, Steve Pasley. Memorial contributions in memory of Madeline can be made to Mt. Ivy Christian Church, 5120 Scruggs Road Moneta, Virginia 24121. Funeral services will be conducted at Mt. Ivy Christian Church 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 19, 2023. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount/Smith Mountain Lake.
