Madelle Pugh Starkey, age 93, went to be with her Lord and Saviour Friday May 14, 2010. She was preceded in death by her parents William Penn and Nancy Angle Pugh, husband Wiley Edward Starkey, brothers and sisters; Annice Starkey, Elizabeth (Lizzy) Pugh, Vincent (Jake) Pugh, Gilbert Pugh and an infant son. Madelle enjoyed homemaking, flowers, butterflies and was a wonderful mother and grandmother. Surviving are her son; Gary Starkey and special friend Elsie Sink, daughter and son-in-law; Sherry and David Sayers, her one and only granddaughter; Jessica Tiller “Princess”, several nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Medi Home Hospice Care for all their outstanding care. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society 1079 C. Spruce St. Martinsville, Va. 24112. Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday at Flint Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Bob Andrews officiating.
