Mamie Hudson Dalton, age 84 of Rocky Mount passed away Friday, July 31, 2009.
A devoted wife and mother who loved and cared for her family, she was a lifetime member of Redwood United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Dalton; sisters, Charlotte Young and Vera Maxey; brothers, Reggie Hudson and Donald Hudson.
Surviving are her children, Margie Dalton Hambrick and husband Tom, Margaret D. Parrish and husband David, C. Wayne Dalton and wife Annette, Keith Glenwood Dalton and wife Mary, Ricky Lee Dalton and fiancé, Peggy, A. Denise David and husband Frankie; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Vivian Perdue and Frances Brooks; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2 p.m. Sunday with Rev. Bradley S. Dulaney officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 4504 Starkey Road, SW Suite 115, Roanoke, VA 24018.
Her family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service on Sunday at Flora Funeral Service, Rocky Mount and after 12 noon Saturday at the family home.
