Mamie Robison McCallister, age 95 of Rocky Mount left this life Monday, July 20, 2009.
She lived at Our Lady of the Valley in Roanoke, VA for the past six years. Mamie was born in McRae, AR.
She is survived by her daughter, Betty and son-in-law, Jim Bailey of Rocky Mount. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold; parents, Ota C. and Thomas Gaston Robison; siblings, Gladys Vineyard, Early Robison, D.E. Robison and Elouise Scott; and nephew, James Earl Robison.
Mamie was a member of Flint Hill United Methodist Church. She received recognition for her years of membership and service to the United Methodist Women. She was a member of the Hospital Auxiliary, first in Andrews, TX then in Rocky Mount, VA. She has completed more than 1,000 volunteer hours. Three years ago, Mamie was recognized by the Order of the Eastern Star for sixty years of continuous membership. She was proud to serve as Grand Representative of VA to AR and enjoyed the opportunity to share her native state with her VA traveling companions. Many individuals will miss her.
Graveside services will be held in McRae, Arkansas Friday, July 24, 2009.
