Margaret Woods Crook

Margaret Woods Crook, age 86 of Ferrum was born on March 15, 1932 a daughter of the late Charlie and Mattie Cooper Woods and died Sunday, August 5, 2018. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Sam Crook; and brothers, Marvin S. Woods, Russell P. Woods and C.W. Woods. Surviving are her son, Steve (Dot) Crook; daughter, Margie (Wayne) Gearhart; grandchildren, Daniel Gearhart, Charles “Brock” Crook; Brittany (Blake) Crook; brother, Billy Woods; and sisters, Jean Powell and Essie Wilson. Mrs. Crook loved sewing and crafts. Special thanks to friends and neighbors whom she knew and loved… and her “gossip line” friends. Also thanks to the nurses and staff at Carilion Roanoke and Franklin Memorial Hospitals for their care and concern. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 11 a.m. Wednesday with Rev. J. Michael Magnani officiating. Interment will follow in the Sam Crook Family Cemetery at the home. Her family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
