Margaret Deane Hughes

Margaret Deane Jones Hughes, 84 of Boones Mill passed away Monday, August 13, 2018, at the home of her daughter. For over 30 years she worked in the medical practice along side her husband, Dr. William C. Hughes, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her father and mother, Cecil and Elzie Jones. Surviving are her brother, Virgil Jones (Joyce); daughter Karon W. Dyer (Donald); son W. Adron Willis (Rhonda); step-daughter Katie H. Murphy; grandchildren, Steven Willis (Kristin), Tammy Glass (Jason), Chelsea Dyer (Fiance’ Ryan), Lee Hughes; great-grandchildren, Emily Willis, Ryan Willis and Alexander Glass. Her family expresses a very special thank you to caregivers, Kierra Mason and Janie Shelton and a special thank you to Amy, Sherry, Regina, Samantha, Debbie and Seth of Carilion Hospice Services. Funeral services will be conducted at Flora Funeral Chapel, 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 16, 2018 with Rev. Donald Dyer officiating. Interment will follow at Franklin Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
