Margaret Grace Hughes

On Monday, November 13, 2023 the Lord called home Margaret Grace Warren Hughes. Margaret Grace Hughes was born October 4, 1922 in Franklin County, VA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Talmadge Hughes; her parents, Charles E. and Lillie M. Warren Smith; brothers, Ervin Smith (Slim), James Henry Warren, Thomas J. Smith, Lee Edward Smith, Sr. and Clarence T. Smith; sisters, Thelma Lee Watson, Mary Lucy Smith Cuff, Polly Florence Wade and Della Mae Mattox; grandchildren, Veronica Gail Thomas and Karl E. Hughes. She leaves to cherish her loving memories her son, William Harvey Hughes (Roberta) of Rocky Mount, VA; sisters, Lillie Padgett (Luke) of Charlotte, NC and Betty Smith of Rocky Mount, VA, brothers; Glendwood Smith of Collinsville, VA, and Russell Smith of Peekskill, NY; grandchildren, Chris Hughes (Deneen), Coretta Hale (Jammie), Leslie Hughes, Shanita Hughes, Delano Hughes along with a host of  great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and a very special niece and caregiver, Tracey Smith. Funeral services will be at Woodlawn Baptist Church, 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 17, 2023 with Pastor Eddie Hawks officiating. Interment will follow in the Hughes Family Cemetery. Her family will receive friends starting at 10:30 a.m. at the church. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
