Marie Jamison Beckett

Marie Jamison Beckett, age 86 of Brandon Oaks, Roanoke, VA and formerly of Franklin County passed away Thursday, February 10, 2011. She was proud of her membership and accomplishments in the Daughters of the American Revolution, Past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Franklin County Historical Society, and Past President of Pilot Club. She is survived by her sons and their wives, Thomas A. Beckett, wife Theresa of Gainesville, VA and James A. Beckett Jr., wife Rachel of St. Augustine, FL.; grandchildren, Malcolm W. Beckett of Waldorf, MD, TJ Beckett and wife Megan of Salem, VA, Steven J.L. Beckett of Floyd, VA, Sarah Beckett and Derek Beckett of St. Augustine, FL.; great-grandchild, Lacy Elizabeth Beckett of Floyd, VA.; sister-in-law, Marie Jamison; brother, L.S. Jamison Jr. and wife Barbara of Danville, VA. She was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Beckett Sr.; parents, Lawrence S. and Susie Akers Jamison; and brother, Jere D. Jamison. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday from Flora Funeral Chapel. Rites will also be conducted by Electa Chapter #33 Order of the Eastern Star (Roanoke). Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Sunday at Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
