Marie Swanson Brooks, age 86 of Rocky Mount died Tuesday, February 17, 2009.
She was a lifetime member of Sandy Ridge Baptist Church.
She was born October 20, 1922 a daughter of the late Warner Swanson and Beulah Pugh Swanson. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Thomas Benjamin Brooks, Jr.; and sisters, Audrey Cooner and Ardith Sink.
Mrs. Brooks is survived by her son, Buddy W. Brooks and wife Martha; grandchildren, Michelle Hagadorn and husband David, Jason Brooks; great-grandchildren, Jon Brooks, Kaylee and Caleb Hagadorn; brother, Cliford Swanson and wife Delphine; sisters, Mabel Belcher, Juanita Weddle and husband Johnnie; sisters-in-law, Gloria Dillon and husband Buford, Miki Brooks; brother-in-law, Larry Moore; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted from Sandy Ridge Baptist Church 2 p.m. Friday with Pastor Joe Dillon officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Trinity Mission for their kind and loving care.

Her family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
