Marie Hatchett

Marie Hatchett, age 87 of 827 Danbury Road, Penhook, VA 24137 went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 19, 2026. She was born May 4, 1939 a daughter of the late Robert Ellis Hill and Iva Cooper Woodard. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Ray Hatchett; and brothers, Bobby Hill and Billy Hill. Marie was a strong Christian lady who loved people and her Lord. She was a member of Boones Chapel Church and loved her church very much. Surviving are her son, Dwayne Hatchett and wife Susan; daughter, Donna Hatchett; grandchildren, Kendra Romeo and husband Chris and Chase Hatchett; great-grandchildren, Mac Romeo and Rae Romeo; sister-in-law, Eleanor Hill; special brother-in-law, Tony Hatchett; numerous nieces, nephews and her church family. Special thanks to Fork Mountain Rest Home (North) and Carilion Hospice of Franklin County for their care. Funeral services will be conducted from Boones Chapel Church 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 23, 2026 with Pastor Mike Gallimore and Pastor Brandon Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Her family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Monday at the church and other times at the home of Dwayne Hatchett, 695 Circle Creek Road, Penhook, VA 24137.
