Marie B. Whitt

Marie B. Whitt, 87, passed away Friday, January 26, 2018 at her home in Rocky Mount, surrounded by her family. She was born August 1, 1930 to Harry and Nola Brown. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Wallace Brown; and sister, Mabel Kirks. She is survived by her two brothers, Linwood Brown (Ava) and Douglas Brown (Joanne); her two daughters, Judy Brodie (Steve) and Natalie White (Allan); five grandchildren, Kristi Gillispie (Danny Prillaman), Casey Eanes (Whitney), Johnathan Brodie (Bridget), Jason White (Kimberly) and Christopher White (Danielle); along with six great-grandchildren, Brandon Hale, Emerson Gillispie, Brodie and Kellyn Eanes, Willow White and Campbell White. She was blessed with many special cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. She loved getting together and playing Skip Bo. Anyone who met Marie-loved her. She was a wonderful example of a Christian lady and was an active member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church. Her family, friends and church family were the love of her life. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 3, at 11:00 a.m. at Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Sydnorsville, Virginia. Judy and Natalie would like to THANK her doctors in Rocky Mount, Betina Muse, PA , nurse Tammy, her cardiologist in Roanoke, Dr. Joseph Austin & staff,  the ER at Carilion Roanoke, a special tech, Brandi in the ER who helped get mom a bed quickly.
