Marion B. Sutherland

Marion Brown Sutherland, age 89 of Penhook died Tuesday, April 28, 2026. She was born July 13, 1936 a daughter of the late Randolph Brown and Blanche Brooks Brown. She was also preceded in death by her husband, David Sutherland; sister, Maxene Dickerson; brother, Donald Brown; brother-in-law, Wayne Motley; and former husband, William Forrest Brown. Surviving are her son, William Bobby Brown (Stephanie); sister, Dotsie Motley; many special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Special thanks to Bobbi and Jerry (neighbors), James Steve Mullins, Rocky Mount Health and Rehabilitation Center and Good Samaritan Hospice for the care and love shown to Marion. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to Red Valley United Methodist Church, 30 Red Valley Road, Boones Mill, VA 24065. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 11 a.m. Monday, May 4, 2026 with Rev. Tina Yates officiating. Interment will follow in the Brooks Family Cemetery, Union Hall. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
