Marlene Kay Scott

Marlene Kay Scott, age 52 of Rocky Mount died Friday, January 29, 2021. She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Popejoy; sister, Mary Ann Popejoy; brothers, Joe Popejoy (Carol), and Dale Popejoy. Marlene is survived by her husband of 20 years, David Scott; children, Darin Eubank, Kevin Eubank (Brittney), Matthew Butz, and Joshua Butz; grandchildren, Brayden Eubank, and Bentley Weston; mother, Virginia Popejoy; brother, John Popejoy (Rita); sisters, Marjorie Mason (Nathan), and Rosanna Popejoy Hillman; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ronald and Dena Scott; along with numerous nieces and nephews; and special friend, Debbie Elkins. Marlene was a member of New Life Baptist Church for 25 years, where she loved the Lord and served faithfully. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 11 a.m. Tuesday February 2, 2021 with Pastor David McNew officiating.  Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
