Marshall William Ferguson

Marshall William Ferguson, age 68 of Rocky Mount, passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2008. He was born October 11, 1939 to the late Tony Marshall Ferguson and Norene Taylor Ferguson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Gerald Warren Ferguson. He was a truck driver for ten years and also worked as a security guard. As a child, he and his sister would sing on the radio. He was a great daddy, grandpa, brother, uncle and friend to many who new him as “Smiley”. Surviving are his daughter Kathy Hall; grandchildren Terry Michael Hall, Amber Lynnette Hall; brothers and sisters Edward and Lora Ferguson, Betty and Clyde Midkiff, Morrie and Barbara Ferguson, Allen and Patricia Smith; sister-in-law Carolyn Ferguson; and a host of nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 3907 Martinsville, VA 24115. A memorial service will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 7:00 p.m. Thursday with Dr. William Shively officiating. His family will be receiving friends from 6-7 p.m. Thursday at Flora Funeral Service, Rocky Mount.
