Martha Ann Bryant Tyree

Martha Ann Bryant Tyree, age 84 of Henry died Wednesday, September 9, 2015. She was preceded in death by her father, Harry David Bryant; her mother, Estelle Shumate Bryant; her husband, Claude King Tyree; her daughter, Donna Faye Tyree; and daughter-in-law, Jennifer Gay Williamson Tyree. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, David Shumate Bryant, Hugh Douglas Bryant, Joseph Harvey Bryant; and sister, Mary Page King. She is survived by her three sons, Claude Andrew Tyree (Karen), Russell Owen Tyree, Stephen Curtis Tyree (Debra); and grandchildren, Jared Owen Tyree, Jason William Tyree, and Lucas Claude Tyree. She is also survived by her sisters, Betty Bryant Gardner, Sue B. Bowyer; brother, Jerry Daniel Bryant (Frances Gay); and sisters-in-law, Goldie C. Bryant, Ruth R. Bryant, Lucy Tyree Prillaman. She adored her three grandchildren, loved a great baseball game where the Washington Nationals win, and enjoyed playing a good game of cards with family and friends. She was an avid gardener and was passionate about her genealogy. The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Frances Gay Bryant and Goldie Bryant for all of their love, help and support. Funeral services will be conducted by Dr. J.D. Harmon and are going to be held on Sunday, September 13, 2015 at 3 p.m. at Flora Funeral Chapel, Rocky Mount, VA. Burial will follow in Towne Creek Primitive Baptist Cemetery in Henry, VA. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Sunday at Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
