Martha Jane Hodges

Martha Jane Hodges, age 81 of Rocky Mount was called home to Heaven on Friday, January 13, 2023. She was at home surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was born August 31, 1941 to the late William Samuel and Sally Ann Walker. Jane was born in Franklin County where she married, worked, and raised her family. Mama worked at Lane Furniture and enjoyed her job, which she held for some 13 years. Jane loved her family especially the little ones who brought joy to her life. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hensil V. Hodges; siblings, Odie Walker, Harry Walker, Hugh Walker, and Anne Upton. Jane is survived by five children, Deborah Brown, Patty Turner (David), Mike Hodges, Timmy Hodges and Kenny Hodges (Cindy); 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Charlene Bellivue (John); and numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and other family members. Funeral services will be conducted at Flora Funeral Chapel, 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 16, 2023 with Pastor Randy Sawyers officiating. Interment will follow at Franklin Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Sunday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
