Marvin Earl Beeghly

Marvin Earl Beeghly, age 89 of Rocky Mount died Thursday, April 17, 2008 at his home. He was born April 4, 1919 to Rev. Samuel and Lucy Brubaker Beeghly. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Nannie Davis Beeghly; one daughter, Catherine (Kitty) B. Nelson; one great-granddaughter, Brittany Anne Hartberger; one brother, Urias Beeghly; one sister, Margie Beeghly Shaffer; one stepson, Wesley Stilton. Surviving are his wife, Martha Stilton Beeghly, Rocky Mount; one son and daughter-in-law, Robert (Bobby) and Ada Beeghly, Henry; one stepson, Roger Stilton, Dillwyn, Virginia; four stepdaughters and their spouses, Carolyn S. Hall, Rocky Mount, Teresa S. and Mike Parks, Hardy, Donna S. and Roger Sloan, Axton, Michelle S. Donavant, Leesburg, Florida; son-in-law, Terry Nelson; four grandchildren; fifteen step grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; nine step great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Mary Beeghly; special friend and neighbor, Andrew Yopp; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted from Rocky Mount First Church of the Brethren 2 p.m. Sunday, April 20, 2008 with Pastor John Collins officiating. Interment will follow in Antioch Church of the Brethren Cemetery. Pallbearers and Honorary Pallbearers include David Beeghly, Harris Starnes, Henry Hall, Charles Cash, Roger Sloan, Tom Flach, Darell Wade, Sam Beeghly, Earl Beeghly, Mike Parks, Conrad Wade, Kenneth Wheeler, Michael Driggers, Brian Beeghly and Justin Hall. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Saturday with his family receiving friends from 7 to 9 p.m. at Flora Funeral Service, 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount.
