Mary France Cannaday

Mary France Cannaday, 98, of Ferrum went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 29, 2017. Mary was a devoted wife and mother who loved providing for her family. Proverbs 31 speaks to the Godly woman that she was, “She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness… Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise.”  She was preceded in death by her husband, Taft “PT” Cannaday of Ferrum; and her son, Lynwood Taft “Fidge” Cannaday, Sr.; and her siblings. Surviving is her grandson, Lynwood T. Cannaday, Jr. of Ferrum; her step-grand-daughter, Theresa L. Bailey of Rocky Mount; her step-great-granddaughter, Jessica Foy of Wirtz; and all of Mary’s nieces and nephews. Special thanks to her caregiver Sally Martin and all those who knew and loved Mary. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2 p.m. Wednesday with Chaplain Rick Poland officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
