Mary Stickman Crawford, born May 18, 1941, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, March 11, 2011. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Iva Stickman; sisters, Iva Mae Fletcher, Irene Lamb; and an infant brother, Joseph Francis. She is survived by her loving husband and best friend of 49 years, Paul F. Crawford; her children who cherished her, Faith Deaver (Ross), Alison Vest (Mark), Kristin Bradner (Brian), Whitney Bradd (Justin), Paul Andrew Crawford (Teresa); ten grandchildren who fondly called her “Meme”, Trevor, Zach, Tyler and Peyton Deaver, Megan and Jared Vest, Alec and Corey Crawford, Ashlyn and Avery Bradner; her very special sister, Sharon Fox (Tommy); brothers, Kenneth Stickman (Lori) and George “Buddy” Stickman (Dawn); many nieces and nephews. Mary’s greatest job was being a wife, mother and grandmother and she did these jobs with perfection. She was a great cook and her Sunday meals with her family were always a weekly treat. She was a Christian, baptized as a Baptist and attented Sandy Ridge Baptist Church. She will be greatly missed by Robin Wray and all the girls at Trendz and J&J Fashions, and most of all her husband and children. She was an amazing woman. A special thank you to Dr. David Cummings her personal physician for many years at southwest medical clinic. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the American Heart Association, JDRF, or Sandy Ridge Baptist Church Building Fund. Funeral services will be conducted from Sandy Ridge Baptist Church, ll:00 A.M. Monday with Pastor Joe Dillon officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park. Friends may call after 3:00 P.M. Sunday with her family receiving friends from 5-7 P.M. at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
