Mary Ellis Ferguson

Mary Ellis Ferguson, age 90 of Redwood, Va. passed away earlier Thursday morning November 1, 2012. Mary was the daughter of the late Charlie F. Ellis and Annie Lou Davis Ellis. She was born on March 20, 1922 and lived her life in Roanoke and surrounding area. Mary was a devoted wife of 50 years to her late husband, Warren D. Ferguson of Bedford and was also preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Fred Ellis, Jr., Woodrow Ellis, Alma Ann Stanley, Edna E. Harrison and Hilda Jean Ellis. Mary is survived by her two sons, S. Dean Ferguson and wife Vicki of Roanoke, Wayne D. Ferguson and fiancée Frances L. Law of Redwood; grandchildren, Travis Ferguson and wife Julie of Boones Mill, Ian Ferguson and wife Stephanie of Roanoke, Stephanie Ferguson of Bedford, Elizabeth Law of Redwood, Robbie Young of Salem, Phillip Young of Salem, Mark Diproseris of Roanoke, and Justin Diproseris of Roanoke. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews, Betty Lou Wray of Redwood, Phyllis Jo Dillon of Burnt Chimney, Andrea Renee Ellis of Brookneal, Charles W. Ellis of Salem, Bobbi Etter of Kansas City, MO, and Stanley Etter, Jr. of Kansas City, MO. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 11 a.m. Saturday with Pastor Eddie Hawks officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
