Mary Willie Ellis Harrison

Mary Willie Ellis Harrison, age 87 of Hardy died Sunday, February 7, 2010. She was born August 23, 1922 a daughter of the late Dana and Mary Bobbitt Ellis. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Richard E. Harrison; son, Bobby Harrison; daughter, Brenda Lee Harrison; and brother, John Calvin Ellis. She enjoyed gardening and quilting. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and Christian and her main love was her children and her family. Surviving are her children and their spouses, Richard A. Harrison (Carolyn), Mary Ann Jenkins (Owen), Janice Hartman (Henry), Betty Altice; grandchildren, Danny Harrison, Ronnie Harrison, David Jenkins, Lisa Lujan, Monica Spencer, Amanda Altice, Jason Altice and Gary Frymier; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Robert Crafton Ellis and Arthur Bell Ellis; sister-in-law, Betty Richardson of Salem; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2 p.m. Wednesday with Rev. Melvin Harris officiating. Interment will follow in Epworth United Methodist Church Cemetery. Her family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Flora Funeral Service, Rocky Mount.
