Mary Elizabeth English

Mary “Elizabeth” H. English, age 87 of Rocky Mount passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2018 meeting her Lord and Savior and many loved ones. Elizabeth worked at J.P. Stevens plant for 51 years before retiring. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Archie; mother and father, Eula and George Hodges; sisters, Pauline Holcomb and Lucille Jones; brothers, Junior, Dalton and Walter. She is survived by her sons, Barry English and wife Margaret, Gary English and wife Melody; grandchildren, Terry English, Amy English, Donovan English, Siobhan Hale, Tara Martin, Vanessa Burnette, Stephanie Kirk, Jason Matney, Steven Matney, Katelynn Matney, Parker May; and several great-grandchildren. The family also likes to express appreciation and gratitude to Elizabeth’s special caregiver, Macie Boitnott who has become family to us. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2 p.m. Tuesday with Pastor John Collins officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Monday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
