Mary Evelyn Arrington

On June 2, 2018 Mary Evelyn Arrington (86) celebrated a grand heavenly reunion with her father and mother, Posey and Belle Hall and her loving husband, Marvin Lee Arrington. Evelyn was born April 27, 1932 and worked tirelessly as a mother to protect and care for her children, even as she worked full time and retired from Martin Processing. Left to cherish her memory and her ever present smile are her children and their spouses all of Franklin County; Bobby Harrison (Brenda), Marsha Arrington, Becky Grindstaff (fiancé Keith Custer), and Rick Arrington (Teresa). Her grandchildren were the light of her life and shared her zeal for life and care for others, they are, Jeff Robertson (Crystal), Adam Grindstaff (Kate), Kelli Hopkins (WL), Kasey Arrington, and Joshua Arrington. She had five great-grandchildren. Her surviving siblings and husbands are, Betty June Perdue, Rose and Luther Scott, Carolyn Buchanan and Kathy and David Wray. She was a member of the Rocky Mount Church of Christ and has received the rest and crown she was promised. Her family would like to acknowledge her loving caregivers with gratitude, they are; Vanessa Gravely, Elaine Hunt, Becky Young and Ashley Lynch Doughton. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Carilion Clinic Hospice – Franklin. Funeral services will be conducted at Flora Funeral Service Chapel, 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 5, 2018. with Brother Mike Powers, Minister of Rocky Mount Church of Christ officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Monday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
