Mary Delong Garland

Mary Delong Garland, age 85 of Hardy died Tuesday, April 11, 2017. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lowry and Gladys Delong; brothers, Herman and Ralph Delong; and brother-in-law, CD Byrd. Surviving are her husband, James Garland; brothers and sisters, Jimmy (Sarah) Delong, Louise Byrd, Ray (Marcella) Delong, John (Marie) Delong, Cathie (Donald) Overstreet, Danny (Charlona) Delong; sister-in-law, Reva Delong; number of nieces and nephews. Mary enjoyed quilting. Funeral services will be conducted from Halesford Baptist Church 11 a.m. Friday with Pastor Melvin Harris officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
