Mary Elizabeth Gibson

Mary Elizabeth Spangler Gibson age 82 of Boones Mill, Va. passed away Sunday April 25, 2010. Mrs. Gibson was born December 23, 1927, a daughter of the late Charlie and Mary Ellen Bowles Spangler. She was also preceded in death by her husband Ernest C. Gibson; her sons, E.C. (Hoot) Gibson and Kenny Richard Gibson. She was a member of Fairmont Baptist Church. Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law Charlie B. Gibson, Coy Lee and Debra Gibson and Mary Lou Gibson; grandchildren Rebecca White and Eric, Lisa Robertson and Scott, Laurie Wood and Tim, Coy Lee (Buddy) Gibson, Billy Gibson and Julia, Charlie J. (Jay) Gibson; two great grandchildren Grace White, Andrea Wood; seven step-great grandchildren; five step-great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2:00 p.m. Tuesday April 27, 2010 with Rev. Leonard Castleman officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park. Her family will be receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at Flora Funeral & Cremation Service, 665 South Main Street Rocky Mount.
