Mary Harlow Griggs

Mary Harlow Griggs, age 69 of Rocky Mount transitioned to her paradise in Heaven with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, November 28, 2017. Mary was a life time member of Franklin Heights Baptist Church and loved her church family very much. Mary also served several years as a volunteer for the Auxiliary at Franklin Memorial Hospital. Preceding her in death are her parents, Lewis and Eva Mae Harlow; four brothers, Marion, Bill and Jim, Gary; sister, Dorothy Briggs; brother-in-law, Robert Jenkins. Surviving a loving and devoted husband of 51 years Tom Griggs; two daughters, Dana Luke (Johnny), Kim Griggs (Shawn) and son Mark Griggs; surviving, sisters and brothers, Joyce Ann Libby (Terry), Eddie (Jean), Janet (Dallas), Louis (Joyce), Gene (Mickey); brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Hal Briggs, Max (Karla) Briggs, Juanita Harlow, Shirley Harlow, Betty Harlow and Jane Harlow; Also several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mary had three grandchildren she loved very much, Travis Rusgrove (Hannah), Gabrielle Griggs, Anthony Griggs. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. Her grandpups, Ashland, Littlebit, Cougar and Cam brought much joy to her life as well. The entire Griggs family would like to sincerely thank everyone involved in her care including all family and friends who cared for and prayed for us. Also a very special thank you to the outstanding staff at Franklin Healthcare your kindness and love and care you gave to our mother will never be forgotten. Funeral services will be conducted at Franklin Heights Baptist Church, 2:00 pm. Friday, December 1, 2017 with Dr. Stan Parris and Dwight Hayes officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Mary asked in lieu of flowers please make a donation of your choice in her honor.
