Mary Belle Hart

Mary Belle Thomas Hart, age 83 of Roanoke, formerly of Glade Hill, passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2021. She was born March 10, 1937 a daughter of the late Wm (Bill) O. Thomas and Lucille Dudley Thomas. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Robert Hart, Jr. Surviving are her husband of 56 years, Robert L. Hart; daughter, Susan Marie Hart; granddaughter, Kirsten Hart of Franklin County; step-granddaughter, Dalia Vazquez of Hutto, Texas; and daughter-in-law, Aida Hart of Austin, Texas. She was a graduate of Franklin County High School, a member of the Class of 1955. Mary Belle continued her education after high school, graduating from the Medical College of Virginia in 1961 and worked as a Registered Nurse from 1961-2002. She was a member of Preston Oaks Baptist Church in Roanoke and was a resident of Friendship Retirement Community since 2012. A memorial service will be held at Flora Funeral Chapel, 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 16, 2021 with Rev. David Long officiating. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
