Mary Lively, of Penhook, VA, passed away on March 3, 2007.
After graduating from Star High School and Woman’s College in Greensboro, N.C, Mary taught and coached at Henderson (NC) High School before becoming a mother and full-time homemaker.
A son, Terry Lee Lively and her parents preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Lee Lively of Penhook; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael Lyn and Kendel Dozier Lively of Troutville, VA; two grandsons, Terry Robert and James Michael Lively of Troutville, VA; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert Lee and Jane McAllister Greene of Star, NC; two sisters-in-law, Betty Lively and husband Richard M. (Dick) Friest of Anchorage, AK and Nancy Lively and husband Sidney N. (Sid) Crockett of Wytheville, VA; a brother-in-law, William L. Lively, and wife Linda Smith Lively of Wytheville, VA and 6 nieces and 4 nephews.
Mary had the special ability to accept people as they are and was loved by all who knew her. She loved her family (especially her grandsons), cats, sports (especially golf, but basketball and softball when younger), reading, crossword puzzles, scrapbooking and life in general.
Her Life Celebration will be held at a 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, March 11, 2007, at White Plains United Methodist Church, 313 SE Maynard Road, Cary, NC with Rev. Rick Poland officiating. A reception will follow the service.

Mary’s family wishes to express its sincere appreciation for the many expressions of love and prayer by neighbors, friends, church members, doctors, nurses and Hospice nurses and volunteers.
