Mary E. Owens

Mary E. Owens, age 100 of Rocky Mount went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 16, 2015. She was born January 18, 1914 a daughter of the late Mac and Elsie Taylor. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Truby Owens; son, James Luther Owens and Virginia; brothers and sisters, Clarence Taylor, Sadie O? Donnell, Leonard Taylor, Gladys Taylor and Erie Taylor. Surviving are her children, Mary Ann Mullins (Emery), David E. Owens (Inez); foster daughter, Shelby Ayers (Claude); grandchildren, Mark Mullins (Jeanette), Paul Mullins (Sarah), Davey Owens (Susan), Rosa Potter, Rebecca Graham, Bobby St. John (Yvette), Jimmy Lee Owens (Terri), Steve Ayers, Shelia Ayers; 11 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Ocie Watkins, Woody Taylor, Effie Parag, Beatrice Brown and Shirley Beckner. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2 p.m. Monday with Pastor Randy Sawyers and Rev. Denver Turner officiating. Interment will follow in Calvary Assembly of God Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Carilion Hospice and Home Health of Franklin County. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Monday at Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
