Mary Parcell Turner, age 88 of Rocky Mount died Tuesday, January 8, 2008.
She was born on December 18, 1919, a daughter of the late Charley Posie and Pallie Turner Parcell.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Robert H. Turner; and four brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and Darius McBride, Rocky Mount, Margie and Reggie Lemon, Roanoke; her grandchildren, Jonathan (Randy) and Stephanie McBride, Lynchburg, Wes and Melissa McBride, Rocky Mount, MarAnna L. and Jeff McKone, Cary, North Carolina, Brett Winter Lemon, Roanoke; three great-grandchildren, Alexus, Chandler and Olivia.
Funeral services will be conducted from Sandy Ridge Baptist Church 11 a.m. Thursday, January 10, 2008 with the Rev. Joe Dillon officiating.
Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorial contributions be made to Sandy Ridge Baptist Church Building Fund, 1444 Bonbrook Mill Road, Rocky Mount, Virginia 24151.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the church and other times at the home of Carolyn and Darius McBride.
