Mary Selenais Young

Mary Selenais (Lena) Young, age 70 of Glade Hill passed away Monday January 24, 2011. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Minnie Mitchell; husband, William Edward (Poochie) Young; and two sisters, Nadine Meeks and Louise Hurt. Surviving are her son; Michael W. Young (Mary Ann); daughters, Dawn Young St. Clair (John), Lisa Castillo (Miguel), Tammy Garcia (Eladio); nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brothers, Hubert Mitchell (Mary Dale), Virgil (Buck) Mitchell; special friends, Carolyn Fralin and Starria Holland; also Mary’s companion Donald Beheler. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Friday from Flora Funeral Chapel with Rev. Janet McGhee, Rev. Liz Lazenby, and Rev. Belle Robertson officiating. Interment will follow in High Street Cemetery. Her family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
