Mary Ruth Sigmon

Mary Ruth Brown Sigmon, 78 of Rocky Mount, VA passed away Thursday, July 9, 2015 at Lewis Gale Hospital. She was a member of Gogginsville United Methodist Church and retired from DuPont after 20 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Wayne Sigmon; parents William Curtis and Sallie Kate Brown; brothers and sisters J.C., Ruben, and Perry Brown, Elva Kirby, Melva Pendleton, Kitty, & Luther Beale; brother-in-law Richard Agee.
Her surviving family includes: daughter and son-in-law Sandra (Sandy) & Mitchell Hodges; grandchildren Jessica Hodges, Margo Slate (Colby), Mitch Hodges; Great-grandson Preston Slate. She is also survived by sisters and brothers Chris Pendleton, Paul Brown (Mary Alice), Ann Agee, Sue Sigmon (Nick), Patsy Belcher (Frankie), Jimmy Brown (Janice), Jewell Brown (Sheila). She is also survived by sisters-in-law Jean and Margaret Brown; brother-in-law Jack Kirby; also many nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Monday July 13, 2015 at Flora Funeral Chapel with Elder David Minter officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. Sunday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
