Maude Cooper Sloan

Maude Cooper Sloan age 104, of Ferrum, passed away Saturday May 23, 2009. She was preceded in death by her husband Jim Edd Sloan, a son J.E. Sloan, Jr. daughter Ruby Sigmon and sons-in-law, Wallace Sigmon, Jesse Wray and Jack Russell, her parents Samuel and Harriet Cooper. She is survived by two daughters Nellie Russell of Danville, Va. and Sylbia Wray of Rocky Mount, Va. also six grandchildren Autrey (Polly) Sigmon Tonia (Jose) Camina, Diane (Sammy) Saunders, Jeanne (Mike) Lavinder, Denna (Ray) Shough, Barry (Ruth) Wray, seventeen great-grandchildren and eleven great-great-grandchildren, three sisters Betty Hale, Jessie Cash, Hettie (Paul) Radford, sister-in-law Ethel Carter. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 26, 2009 with Rev. Winston Crichlow officiating. Interment will be in the Cooper Family Cemetery.
