Mazor Elizabeth Hodges, age 91 of Rocky Mount, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday April 9, 2008. Mazor was born March 20, 1917 in Franklin County to the late Mr. and Mrs. Jim Walter Robertson. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Jesse A. Hodges, also brothers Henry Robertson, James Robertson, and Walter Robertson; her sisters Mary Robertson, Ruth Dillinger, Kate Hodges, and Dora Robertson; and sons-in-law Radford Anderson and Roger Arrington. Mazor is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law Mae & Clinton Hodges, Ernestine Arrington, Elvyn & Jack Hodges, Ellen Anderson, Carolyn & James Altice; 26 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; 28 great-great grandchildren; her brothers and sisters-in-law Tom & Ethel Robertson and Edmund & Eva Robertson; and her sister Mildred Chitwood. Mazor was a life long member of Doe Run Christian Church, very devoted to her church and Lord. She was a nursery attendant for many years. She loved her family and also her church family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and a dear person to everyone she made contact with. She raised tobacco until she was 85 years old; along with her family and friends. She also made many quilts with love for all her children and grandchildren, every stitch being stitched with love with her daughters and sisters by her side. Funeral services for Mazor Hodges will be held at 2:00 pm Friday on April 11, 2008 officiated by Dr. J. Cecil Riley at Flora Funeral Chapel. She will be put to rest at the Robertson Family Cemetery. Her family will be receiving friends Thursday April 10, 2008 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm and at other times at her home on Ball Park Road.
